connection95mmAfter the mountain I climbed for my solo show it was great to spend August creating plates and printing again for Norwich Print Fair. I wanted to take forward the principles I had applied to my paintings: contrast, composition, colour etc but also work more intuitively. I created a pile of printing plates; dry point, collagraph, relief etc based on the observational work I did for ‘Past, Present, Imperfections’ and printed them randomly on a range of papers. Once they were dry I pinned all those printed on thicker papers on my studio wall 1506674998113and set about collaging….really in a zone! The thin papers disappear on contact with the gloss medium I use to glue them down. By the end of August I had over 30 ready to be mounted or framed…..whilst technically these are collages for NPF I called them monoprints.

It was great seeing them on display and the response was overwhelming! Those that didn’t sell went on my Facebook Shop and a few are currently at Broadland Gallery in Aylsham.1
