Sally Hirst is a printmaker with a studio at her home in the centre of Norwich.
Line, pattern and shape are significant in her work. Line helps describe and convey meaning; the more fluid the line, the more energy and movement is expressed. Pattern and shape are used to deconstruct the space and reassemble it somewhere between abstraction and realism. Colour, and its infinite combinations is used to convey meaning, evoke memories and emotions.
The plates are made using a combination of both modern and traditional techniques and are hand printed using a 19c Albion press.
